Reminders and Updates PDF Print E-mail

A few reminders/updates for all!
This weekend camping trip to Ockanickon includes the following 13 Scouts: Nate B., Tim K., Dustin W., Zach D., Jason S., Nick B., Chris B., Alec C., Joe R., Rob S., Dima B., Patrick M., & Matthew M.  Please contact me immediately if this information in incorrect.

As for our Adult Leadership and Transportation we have Brian Calderwood, Dan Barber, James McKenna, Dmytro Bondarchuk, & Rick Woywod.  We have a total of 18 attendees within a cabin capable of supporting 20 - what outstanding planning!!

Everyone should be at the Church on Friday Evening (2/6/09) by 5:45PM for a 6:00PM to 6:15PM departure.

Scout Sunday - Thank you to the 17 Scouts that attended.  Matthew H. & Matthew M. did a great job with their readings and a special thanks to Nate B. for stepping in just minutes before the service to read.  Following the service, Troop #354 was presented with an extremely generous gift from Leigh & Deborah Shull (from the Congregation).  The gift was presented wishing Troop #354 continued success!  I'd like a Scout to take the lead in preparing an appropriate thank you note for the Shulls - from the Troop - please see Mr. Woywod.

Next Thursday's Troop Meeting (2/12/09) we are looking for nominees for the Patrol Leader & Assistant Patrol Leader positions.  Elections to be held during the following Troop Meeting (2/19/09).  We need to have this process completed prior to incoming Webelos Scouts crossing-over.

The 2009 Order of the Arrow candidates will need to discuss options for the upcoming Spring Weekend, as a scheduling conflict just came to light regarding a MS Jazz concert.  This conflict affects Patrick M., Dustin W., Gavin L. (our O/A Rep) & Mr. Woywod (our adult candidate).  Alternate weekends exists or we can look into splitting the group.  Preliminary conversations with these Scouts was leaning toward finding an alternate weekend.

2009 Summer Camp - You may think that Summer Camp is way off, but that is far from true!!!  The first payment of $90 is due during our February 26th Troop Meeting - only three (3) weeks from now!!!  We need to establish a headcount (Scouts & Adults), as we need to provide Trexler with this information.  Remember July 26th - Aug 1st.

Parents - start thinking about Medical forms for Scouts & Adults - don't wait until the last minute to schedule Doctor visits.

Thank you - see you Thursday!!

Commuinications Merit Badge Update PDF Print E-mail

All,

Thanks to all who participated last night.  We've made good progress.  I hope that the scouts participating will complete the tasks assigned last night.  The tasks are:

  1. Communications Log
  2. Report on a Communications Profession
  3. Write a letter/Write a webpage/Comment on an official Blog

I found a worksheet document on the web that you should print out at home.  icon This worksheet (66.5 kB) contains a template for the communications log, among other worksheets for the badge.  I've also included a sample communications log that you can use to guide you.  Please fill the log as completely as possible.  If you use more entries than the template, update the template with additional lines.  Thanks for your hard work!
