All,

A few reminders:

Pizza Fundraiser orders & money is due this Thursday (8th Graders heading to Canada - please make proper arrangements for dropping off yours).

Headcount & money is due this Thursday for the Canoe Trip down the Delaware River (6/19 & 6/20).  See Chris B. email from earlier today.  Again, 8th Graders - make proper arrangements now if you plan on attending!!

This Thursday will be final night for Scouts to complete rank advancement or complete Merit Badges - prior to Court of Honor.  I know of only one scheduled Board of Review.  Are there any others??

Scouts attending Summer Camp - please take the opportunity this week to review your Summer Camp plans & MB schedules with myself or the other leaders.  Everyone should have an idea by now & work should be underway for pre-requisites.

This Monday there will be a Parent Meeting at 7PM to review recent trips, activities, & fundraiser.  We'll also need to discuss/review next Thursday's Formal Court of Honor.

Next Thursday (6/20) is our Formal Court of Honor - Scouts please get out those uniforms and have them cleaned.  Typically, we ask families to provide a dessert to share after the ceremony.

Monday June 14 - Final Summer Camp kick-off meeting in Valley Forge.  I'd like one of our ASPL's to join me, along with another parent that will be going to Summer Camp (volunteers?).  We'll get final site assignment, check-in time, & need to turn in final roster.

Finally, thank you Mr. Soltis & his friend Bill Greet for taking a small group of our Scouts to Ralph Stover State Park on Monday for a day of rock climbing and an opportunity to earn the Climbing Merit Badge.  A great time was had by all!!

That's all for now - I think???

Hello All,

A few reminders/updates:

Pizza Fundraiser Sales - Orders are due next Thursday (6/3).  If you are going on 8th Grade Canada Trip, please make arrangements to drop off prior - just in case you don't make next week's meeting.

If you brought home items to clean from this past weekend's Archery Trip - please return them tomorrow night - assuming that they were cleaned.  If not, it's not a problem to extend another week.

If you haven't paid for Archery, please be prepared to do so tomorrow.

Originally we were planning a knot tying competition for tomorrow night, but time may not allow for this.  We will postpone until June 17 or possibly 24th.  Tomorrow night we need to go through all Patrol Totes from the trailer & shed to organize everything.  This will include re-labeling totes, chef kits, mess kits, etc.  The old Patrol names are still on equipment & it was apparent on the last two trips that we must rectify this, so that current Patrols know which equipment is their responsibility.  Not only that, but the totes are likely a mess from the rain last weekend.

Please bring Merit Badge Schedules & prerequisites from Summer Camp tomorrow night, as many Scouts have approached me with questions.  I'd like to assist each of you with your MB choices & schedules.

Communication MB Scouts may need to work with Mr. Barber for the planning of the Formal Court of Honor (6/10).  Speaking of this - get your uniforms out & cleaned for the Court of Honor - don't wait until last minute!

Sign up can begin tomorrow night for the upcoming Father's Day Weekend Canoe Trip down the Delaware (June 19 & 20).  Final sign-up will be next week (6/3).  See information from Chris B. (below):

We are going on a canoe trip this Father's Day weekend from June 19th to the 20th.  We will be canoeing 20 miles inside the Delaware National Water Gap from Dingman's Ferry to Smithfield Beach.  We will start overnight on the river inside the water gap.  The cost is $49 per person and includes the cost of food.  You may also want to rent a dry bag (recommended) to keep all your gear dry, otherwise you will have to use a five gallon bucket.  There will be a mandatory safety meeting sometime before we go on the trip where I will answer any questions you may have.  All scouts are invited the more the merrier.  We need the final headcount by June 3rd so the outfitter can reserve our canoes.  If you have any questions at all let me know right away by email or phone.  Chris B
That's all for now.

ust a few things to review carefully....

Archery attendees - please confirm this final headcount ASAP and date/time that you will be present - 22 Scouts: - Nick B., Nate B., Tyler F., Josiah M., Colin B., Chris B., Connor D., Matt M., Nick M., Dustin W., Brennan C., Dylan C., Matt H.(meeting us at Descants on Fri.), Michael S., Harry B. (leaving Sat PM), Dima B., Evan D., Anthony M., Jason S., Zach Beben, Noah Beben, & Nick Keller (Sat.AM to PM).

Adults (10) - again, please confirm ASAP: - Duke Descant, Chris Bennett, Kevin McKay, Joe Mount, Rick Woywod (& Kendra), Dan Coleman, Tim Costello, Ray Hoagland 9meeting us at Descants Fri.), Dymtro Bondarchuk, & Frank Mele (arriving Sat. AM & depart Sat. PM, arrive Sun AM).

I left the meeting early on Thursday & if I remember correctly, it was decided that two large Patrols (11 Scouts each) would be created for this trip.  Could my ASPL or SPL or Patrol Leaders please confirm this & let me know who is purchasing food for these two Patrols.  Important Note - I instructed each Patrol to purchase hot dog buns - please ignore this, as the troop will supply/purchase these in bulk.

I was not aware of any adults creating a meal plan on Thursday, nor did anyone approach me about volunteering to purchase adult food, so I've assumed responsibility (unless someones tells me otherwise ASAP).  Brian Calderwood will not be attending this activity, but has still volunteered to pick-up the bulk items from Sam's Warehouse (I'm not a member) - thank you Brian!!!!

Weekend Plan - Frank Mele runs the range & heads up this activity - thanks Frank!!!.  He will definitely need assistance with scoring & making this activity a positive experience for all - Adults please help wherever you see a need this weekend.

All Scouts & adults please remember that you need to bring your own hot/cold drinking mug & utensils.  All patrol food needs to be brought/loaded on Thursday night, along with as much personal gear as we can.  The trailer may be taken up by Mr. Descant on Friday morning, limiting available space to personal vehicles.  Parents please remain on Friday night to ensure that we have adequate transportation.  We will be meeting at Church 5:30-5:45PM & departing to Descants by 6PM.  I will get directions to everyone shortly.

Should be all for now!!

All,

A few important reminders:

f you are not going to make it to a Troop Meeting, please notify your Patrol Leader.  The Patrol Leader will in turn notify the ASPL's & SPL.  If using email, feel free to copy me.

Ricketts Glen headcount & money is due ($20 per person) Thursday night (4/8).  If you cannot make the meeting, please notify your Patrol Leaders or ASPLs (& copy me) with your intent.  Please work with us on this, as we cannot continue with last minute sign-ups & last minute payments for trips/activities.  Again, this trip is scheduled for April 23-25.  Please note that we will be departing earlier than normal on Friday 4/23 for this trip, as we will be on the road approx. 2 1/2 hours.  Departure time anticipated to be 3:45-4:00PM - please keep this in mind.  If we cannot get everyone together at this time, a second wave of transportation may need to be arranged.

New Scouts please remember that prior to your first camping trip with the troop, you need to present a "packed bag" for inspection - this is one of your Tenderfoot Advancement requirements.  You can bring this with you to any of the upcoming meetings.  We will be working with 1st year Scouts to review the necessary items/gear.

Saturday (4/10) is Anthony M's Eagle Project (creek clean-up) look for an email from Anthony with all of the particulars.

Next Thursday (4/15/10 @ 6PM) PLC Council Members will be meeting prior to Troop Meeting.

Summer Camp - please continue to work on Medical Forms!!  Mr. Davis is collecting these.

See you all soon!!!
